The daughter of Egyptian and Indian parents, Rosabella was brought up in rural Devon. She began writing and composing aged just seven, working on songs with her twin sister (her long term collaborater). As a teenager, she found school an ordeal and, instead, escaped into daydreams and music a move that paid off when she was awarded a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music to study to be a composer.
Since graduating in 2000 she has (unlike many of today’s acts who have barely played live) taken the traditional route and, following in the footsteps of many a great songwriter, made her living performing music in piano bars, clubs and hotels all over London. In her own words, “My songs are stories that I have seen and moments that have made deep impressions. They are not lectures or laments, but they celebrate our frailties as well as our strengths”
