Mujaji are 2 brothers who have been writing and recording music together for over a decade. What began as experiments on a 4-track eventually led to their first release in 2001 as a downtempo act. Based in Brooklyn they toured around the US and released tracks on numerous labels.New York was thriving culturally in the late 90's, hip-hop was at its peak and downtempo was a fast growing genre. After 9/11 and the dot-com bubble bursting the economy was rapidly deteriorating and music took a back seat to survival for many. In this time Mujaji began focusing on incorporating songs into their music in the hope of creating a stronger message with which to reach people. The forthcoming album, On a Bridge Between Clouds, is the final draft of that message.Although Mujaji is now based in the UK, the record was mostly written and recorded in a remote part of upstate New York where the winters consist of 3 feet of snow for 6 months. The isolation of that place yielded an introspective look at what was happening to the world around them. Culturally, economically and politically the US has been in a state of turmoil. The album represents a reaction to this over a 4 year period right up until the present. It is not an attempt at prescribing the ultimate solution, it merely poses a simple question to the listener: 'is this the way?'
